It is better to prevent than avoid;
It is better to avoid than to de-escalate;
It is better to de-escalate rather than run;
It is better to run than to fight; and
It is better to fight than to suffer harm.
We firmly believe that a full repertoire of controls needs to be implemented in order to prevent violence. Everything from changing the environment and work practices to minimise exposure and reduce the consequences, to improved customer service skills, improved communication skills and the development of applicable avoidance and self defence skills for when it all turns bad.
