All employers who have an extensive cash flow through their business (or other goods attractive to criminals, such as cold & flu medications) should be aware of the impact that an armed robbery/hold-up can have on their business and on the health, safety and welfare of staff, customers and themselves. 

Our armed robbery awareness course aims to provide information to employees regarding the risks of armed robbery as is required by the Workplace Health & Safety Act. The program is designed to reduce the risk of victimisation by making it more difficult for offenders to commit the offence, increasing the likelihood an offender will be apprehended and reducing reward available to an offender from the proceeds of crime.

The Armed Robbery Awareness Program cannot guarantee risks associated with armed robbery will be eliminated however the strategies suggested have general deterrence and crime prevention value and are designed to minimise the incidence of this serious offence.

• prevention strategies;
• being aware;
• the principles of CPTED;
• the likely effects of fear and stress;
• post robbery protocols;
• interactions with the criminal justice system; and
• sources of assistance post robbery.
